The Dancer’s Advantage SCHOOL POLICIES & PROCEDURES
PARENT VIEWING – The Dancer's Advantage is a very different studio from others. We allow parents to watch and enjoy their experience with us. We do ask that parents dancers be aware of their influence and possible distraction and observe accordingly.
TARDINESS – The Dancer’s Advantage takes its training responsibility to each student seriously. The opening exercise is designed to prepare the young dancer physically and mentally for the rest of the class. Dancers who arrive late miss the first exercise and disrupt the class focus. For this reason we request that students make every effort to arrive in advance of the first class exercise. Dancers who are late are admitted to class as we understand difficulties that cause a late arrival. Make-up classes may also be arranged if the school director is notified in advance of the class.
No refund or prorate is available on monthly tuition.
MAKE-UPS – If a Parent calls. Missed classes must be made up within 30 days of the class missed and scheduled in advance of the make-up day. Once scheduled, all make-ups are counted. Please contact us with questions. The Dancer's Advantage will always work with you to ensure value for tuition paid.
PARKING – Parking is available along 23rd and Dexter.
DROP OFF/PICK UP – Students may arrive at the studio on their own, either from school or dropped off. However, we cannot be responsible for students outside the building. Students waiting to be picked up must wait inside the reception area. Parents please pick up your children at the end of their scheduled class time.
DRESS CODE – All students must wear their appropriate class dress code.
INSURANCE FEE – A $35 Insurance fee (reserves a student’s place in class) is required for all students at the start of each September. This fee is due in full without pro-rate until June of each year.
Performance Fee - A $45 fee is requested of each student performing in our annual recital. This helps rent the theatre and assist with the many additional production expenses the studio incurs each year.
TUITION PAYMENTS – Payment by check, cash, or credit card is available. Tuition must be paid in two month segments or by session. See Brian Bender to arrange session payments. Payment in Full is due on the First Class of the month. No refund or prorate is available on monthly tuition. Students are always encouraged to make-up missed classes per the above policy.
Session payments are due on the first day of the Session of the dancer’s scheduled class. Sessions for The Dancer’s Advantage are: Session 1: September 1, 2009 – December 31, 2009. Session 2: January 2, 2010 - June 15, 2010. Session 3: June 17, 2010 - August 31, 2010.
